Interacting with the tacTile on an office chair - the sonification monitors interaction with the tacTiles, stationary pressure patterns lead to an amplitude decay of the pulsed sound streams.

If the user remains unmoved on the tacTiles for a longer time, sounds start to engage the user in a more dynamic working style. A threshold time can be adjusted. For the video, this time is quite short to keep the video small, suitable times are perhaps around several minutes.

This video shows how simple a weighing machine can be realized with tacTiles, by summing the sensor readings for the seating area and mapping accordingly. Although this estimate is quite fuzzy, it may give a rough estimate of who is sitting on the chair.

The video shows that weight shifts are accurate enough to be useful for control applications. While painting (as shown here) is not particularly useful, a control of line width or style while using the mouse to paint might be a useful extension of control for specific applications.
