Abstract / Bemerkung
Background: The research project ‘Gemeinschaftlich mit un-
terstützer Teilhabe’ (GUT) was initiated in response to an ex-
pert commission report following incidents in group homes for
people with intellectual disabilities in North Rhine-Westphalia
(NRW). The project addresses the lack of available data on the
living conditions of people with intellectual disabilities and
challenging behaviour in NRW. Therefore, the project uses a
mixed methods approach to collect data in the areas of housing,
healthcare and vocational and social participation.
Methods: Between 07/24 and 01/25, a systematic data collec-
tion was carried out in the form of an online survey targeting
relevant service providers in the areas of housing, employment
and healthcare. The survey collected structural data about the
service provider as well as individual data of the persons with
cognitive impairment and challenging behaviour currently re-
ceiving care by the providers. Structural data included infor-
mation on the type of provider, location, staffing and training
provided. For individuals, data were collected on sociodemo-
graphic status, type and level of challenging behaviour and re-
alized participation.

Results: The poster reports on the results of the quantitative
analysis of the client population that was reported by support
settings.
