The introduction to this special issue aims to provide a theoretical overview of the topic, answering, among others, the following questions: what are the classic theoretical reflections in the social sciences on migration and inequalities? What role do Latin American perspectives play in this? What approaches and concepts can facilitate the theoretical investigation of processes related to current migration in Latin America?
