The final paper, written by Heinrich Schäfer, Leif-Hagen Seibert & Adrian Tovar Simoncic, proposes a qualitative methodology derived from Bourdieu, consisting of a conceptualization of the habitus as an analytical third layer of ‘socioanalysis’, and as a promising complement for the statistical construction of social spaces and fields using GDA. (Jörg Blasius) HabitusAnalysis provides the data to insert a “third layer” between social structure and (life)styles. Thus, using HabitusAnalysis for an in-depth breakdown of the semantics that correspond to a specific societal position can significantly augment our understanding of the actors in question. However, it stands to reason that the successful amalgamation of HabitusAnalysis and MCA should provide even more research opportunities, because the results of the former are, in essence, wellgrounded sets of categorical data that may in turn be used to inform the latter. For instance, each detected habitus formation – a set of different religious groups, political activists, occupational groups etc. – can be used as an active variable.
