Abstract / Bemerkung
In the Bielefeld Study on Xenosophia and Religion in Germany with a total of 1,534 participants who answered the questionnaire, faith development in-terviews have been conducted with 27 participants, who were systematically se-lected from a pool of 108 participants who, in the questionnaire, indicated their readiness for an interview. This chapter describes characteristics of this sample of interviewees, details the conceptual framework for the construction of a typology and the selection of participants for case studies, and finally introduces the four cases that have been selected for case studies. Thus, this chapter opens the per-spective on the typology of biographical paths to xenosophia which is presented in detail in Chapters 11 through 14 of this book.
