Beschreibung
This video demonstrates the initial sonification of our SoProMon system where 6 sounds were selected from the domain of forest noises and assigned to machine execution steps. A systematic mapping from machine specific data controls features of the sounds such as timbre or level.

This sound example illustrates our alternative approach using continuous sound samples for each machine, merely controlling mixing features of these into a complete soundscape according to data of the process. After 1 min stationary process slowly a machine (represented by the thunderstorm sounds) becomes more urgent and finally critical. After 2 minutes, the output buffer of a machine slowly runs full, causing it to halt.

Similar to S1, this soundscape illustrates a mapping of machine-specific data on the mixing of continuous soundstreams, this time sound originating from the jungle. As many of these sounds exhibit already a rather stabile rhythm we consider a hybrid approach where we combine event-based and continuous components in process-monitoring sonifications.
