Abstract / Bemerkung
An improved version of the Dobrushin-Pechersky uniqueness criterion for Gibbs measures is given. Since this result was so far poorly recognized, a clear and detailed proof for it is presented. Moreover, it is applied to certain models of interacting particle systems where the classical Dobrushin criterion does not work.
