Abstract / Bemerkung
The project "Digital Library NRW" was announced at the 4th Bielefeld conference and started in April 1998. The project has led to several sub projects with a technical approach to digital libraries but also dealed with forms of co-ordinated acquisition of printed and electronic documents. This article focusses on the central access system, which allows an combined search in distributed database systems via the interfaces HTTP and Z39.50 as well as the integration with electronic fulltext and document delivery systems. Part of the central access system is also the so called "Collect-Database", which allows the automated indexing of all kinds of electronic documents especially from the internet.
