Abstract / Bemerkung
Song learning, filial imprinting, and sexual imprinting, three examples of early learning in birds, have many similarities. This review presents an overview over ethological and physiological work done in the three areas of research and compares it, Models developed in the three paradigms are also presented and compared, It is concluded that the similarities are not only superficial, but point towards a common mechanism for all three kinds of early learning.
