Abstract
The training school on Biomedical Data Sonification was the first training programme of the COST Action on Sonic Interaction Design, organised with the goal of promoting interdisciplinary education and research in the fields of sonification, data mining, sound computing and SID. The thematic focus was on sonification, the systematic representation of data as sound, and on how sonification can support the understanding of patterns in complex data. The programme provided insights and inspiration from a multi-faceted emerging field, including data analysis, sonification, bio-medical applications, sound studies and sound art.
