Abstract
The Nd self-diffusivity has been studied in nanocrystalline Nd-rich Nd2Fe14B. From the analysis of the diffusion profiles grain-boundary diffusion coefficients D-GB(Nd) are derived similar to the values observed recently for Fe-59 diffusion in this material. Above the intergranular melting transition, a second diffusion path indicates rapid diffusion in the liquid intergranular phase. (c) 2005 American Institute of Physics.
