Abstract
The thermal production rate of low mass e+e- pairs is calculated for central U-U collisions at LHC energy. The results are then compared to dielectron rates froin pi-0 and mu Dalitz decays. We, conclude that it will be rather difficult to disentangle the quark-gluon plasma contributions from competing e+e- production processes.
