Abstract
The current status of results of the Bielefeld group on the chiral transition in two-flavor staggered QCD is presented. The scaling behavior of some susceptibilities will be compared with the expectations originating from the O(4) sigma model. The realization of the anomalous U-A(1) around the transition will be addressed and first data on the eigenvalue spectrum of the Dirac matrix as well as the corresponding eigenvectors will be presented.
