Abstract
The QCD counterpart of Hawking radiation from black holes leads to thermal hadron production in high energy collisions, from e(+)e(-) annihilation to heavy ion interactions. This hadronic radiation is emitted at a universal temperature T similar or equal to (sigma/2 pi)(1/2), where the string tension or measures the colour field at the event horizon of confinement. Moreover, the emitted radiation is thermal "at birth", since the event horizon prevents all information transfer, no memory has to be destroyed kinetically.
