PUB OA represents the central source for academic full texts and respective bibliographic data which Bielefeld academics provide for
worldwide open access on the web.
Besides quality-tested scholarly works which have undergone a peer-review process or similar quality-testing methods, other document types which show
research results worked out at Bielefeld University are included. Data and texts come from the academics' personal publication lists which are created
and maintained in PUB (Publications at Bielefeld University).
PUB OA is a reliable service, designed for long term operation and for the benefit of all disciplines.
Open Access means unrestricted and free access to scholarly publications on the Internet. Users may i.a. read, download and disseminate full texts, without financial, technical and legal restrictions. The Berlin Declaration incloses an accepted definition of Open Access.
Bielefeld University supports the idea of open access and states this attitude in a resolution. Quite a number of projects and activities which serve as support to scientific communication and scholarly publishing have been developed. (in German)
The SHERPA/RoMEO website provides information about publishers' copyright policies and self-archiving terms.
General and comprehensive information on Open Access can be found on the information platform open-access.net.
